The Sanctuary Studio is proud to welcome Grammy Award-winning trumpeter, bandleader, and educator Ashlin Parker for an extraordinary evening of jazz alongside an exceptional ensemble of Southern California musicians.
Based in New Orleans, Parker is a celebrated figure in contemporary jazz whose artistry reflects the rich musical heritage of his home city. As a member of the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, he shared in the ensemble’s 2009 Grammy Award for Book One and has performed and recorded with jazz luminaries including Ellis Marsalis, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Terence Blanchard, Herlin Riley, and Delfeayo Marsalis.
A dynamic bandleader and passionate advocate for the next generation of jazz musicians, Parker is the founder of the acclaimed ensemble Trumpet Mafia and serves on the jazz faculty at Tulane University. His playing combines technical brilliance, soulful expression, and a deep reverence for the jazz tradition, bringing both virtuosity and an unmistakable New Orleans spirit to every performance.
